WRATT III Case Studies - Great Dane Chapter 14: Washing Galvanized Steel / Credits
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 14 of 14 for this video. Galvanized steel can release zinc into the waste steam, even with rinse water. Zinc must be precipitated from the waste stream prior to waste water release into the sewer. Iron phosphate baths will etch the surface of the steel to promote good paint adhesion, but it will add zinc to the waste stream.
