GE Employee Involvement in Waste Management Chapter 02: Assessment Results and Implementation / Cardboard Recycling
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 2 of 6 for this video. Prior to implementation of their waste reduction plan, the plant was spending about $127,000 annually on disposal costs. They have gotten all of the employees involved. They have monthly Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) meetings. This helps educate staff on what is waste and what can be recycled. They purchased a vertical bailer for cardboard. Because bailing proved to be so labor intensive, they have switched to an open top container for recyclable cardboard.
