WRATT III Introduction to Powder Coating Systems: Chapter 02: Overcoming Drawbacks to Powder Coating Technology
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 2 of 26 for this video. Chris Merritt discusses the drawbacks of powder coating and how to overcome these drawbacks. The highest perceived drawback of powder coating systems is color change. However, if proper attention is place on system design, there problems can be easily dealt with. Some systems have removable color modules. The fastest color changes are accomplished with a "Color Speeder" system. The application gun should be designed with a minimum number of parts to clean. High transfer efficiency will lower the amount of powder inside the booth and therefore make it easier to color change.
