WRATT IV Promote Landfill Alternatives Now: Solutions for Industrial Solid Waste: Chapter 07: Sources of Waste, and Industrial Disposal Methods
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 7 of 26 for this video. The EPA has determined that the majority of non-hazardous waste comes primarily from manufacturing facilities. The range of substances in these waste stream varies greatly. The largest portion of this waste are process waste water. 96.6% of this goes to an onsite surface impoundment and is discharged into surface waters. Here they are permitted for discharge, but the process waste waters are not looked at in the surface impoundment as to what is leeching into the groundwater.
