WRATT IV Promote Landfill Alternatives Now: Solutions for Industrial Solid Waste: Chapter 19: Case Study - Jack Daniels - Recycled Wood Facility
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 19 of 26 for this video. The palates are trucked to their recycled wood facility and unloaded. They keep very detailed records of all the recycled wood they receive. Their suppliers have access to this information for any reports they may need to generate. They are incorporating a truck dumper to make unloading more efficient. Once the waste is onsite, the palettes are rated based on quality and wood type. The palettes that are in excellent or repairable condition are reused, while the low quality palettes are ground up and used as boiler fuel. About 70% of the incoming palettes end up as boiler fuel.
