Chapter Abstract: This is clip 6 of 9 for this video. PFI has reduced the amount of waste produced by its operation greatly. The reductions have occurred even while the business has experienced growth. They started by consulting the workers on the shop floor. They were able to cut their waste treatment costs in half simply by examining production and changing it accordingly. The largest hurtle to overcome was the unwillingness to change. Much research is done when considering a new technology so they are able to make in informed decision.
