Pollution Prevention in the Textile Industry: Chapter 05: Improved Operating Practices

Chapter Abstract: This is clip 5 of 7 for this video. Machinery will provide better and more consistent work if it is put under a regular preventative maintenance program. Proper clean-up can lead to significant source reduction. Some waste may be reused as raw materials. The use of reusable packaging and shipping systems reduces costs and waste. If your facility is unable to eliminate all sources of pollution, it is easier to treat them when the wastes are properly segregated.
