Chapter Abstract: This is clip 6 of 14 for this video. Environmental benefits have also been realized. An average of 224,000 lbs of 111-trichloroethane vapor was emitted into the atmosphere each year. The 1991 estimate is 22,000 lbs released, a reduction of 202,000 lbs or 90%. The reuse of hazardous waste has significantly reduced the potential for hazardous waste accidents and spills during the handling and transporting of the waste.
